Onsen and camping, Eniwa Onsen Hono Camping site(Details and Prices)

Want to enjoy a relaxing hot spring camping trip? There is a campsite just outside of Sapporo, Hokkaido that is perfect for such people. This time, I went to Eniwa Onsen Honoka, so I would like to share my impressions, prices, and information about the hot springs and camping facilities that you may be interested in!

What is Eniwa Onsen Honoka? and Hono campsite

[Eniwa Onsen Honoka] is one of the many hot springs in the Honoka group located near Sapporo and is located in Eniwa City.

The Honoka Group offers hot spring facilities, as well as spa resort facilities with rock baths and saunas.

You can also enjoy a rock sauna or sauna at Eniwa Onsen Honoka. In addition, the Honoka group’s hot spring facilities also have restaurants, so the appeal of Onsen Honoka is that it is a hot spring facility where you can relax all day long!

Now, what makes Eniwa Onsen Honoka different from the other Honoka group facilities is that you can actually camp there.

When camping, your body inevitably gets dirty and smelly from campfires and charcoal. Of course, going home with the smell of campfire and dirt stains is one of the best parts of camping, but if there is a hot spring nearby, it is a different story.

You can take a bath in the hot spring before going to bed after camping and go to bed refreshed. You can also take a bath before going home. The advantage of having a hot spring nearby is considerable.

The “Honoka Campsite” operated by “Eniwa Onsen Honoka” is located right in front of such hot spring facilities. Please refer to the next item for details of Honoka Campsite!

About Hono campsite. Facility and rules!

Now, let me introduce the details of the almost-camp that you are interested in.

The charm of this campground is that it is located next to a hot spring.

What’s more, the fee for using the Honoka Hot Springs facilities is included in the Honoka Campground fee!

After you are given a wristband at check-in, you may enter the hot springs as many times as you like as long as you do not lose it. Please note that you can only use the hot springs from the time of check-in until 11:00 the next day.

Next, we will introduce the facilities in the campground in detail.

First of all, the type of site, HONO campsites are free sites. Free sites meaning in Japan are campgrounds where you can freely pitch your tent anywhere you like.

This is a free site, but there are two things to note. One is that there is a space reserved exclusively for those with reservations. This space is for advance reservations only, so if you use the site without a reservation, you will not be able to use it. The other is that cars are not allowed in the free site.

There is a wheelbarrow available at the site entrance for free, so campers with a lot of equipment should use it.

Toilets and running water

Toilets are not located in the campground, but in an annex of a hot spring facility about 50 meters away on foot. Because they are in the annex, they are cleaner than most campground toilets. There is also a washing area at the entrance to the restrooms, so if you need to wash up, you will have to come here.

If you have a large number of people, you may want to bring washing-up bags!

As for the water supply, it is stated that the water facilities on site are not drinking water, so if you want to drink water, get it from the water supply in the washing area.

About the size of the site

It is a small campground, so if you want to go there, it might be safer to make a reservation. From the impression I got from staying there, it may be a campground for those who are traveling, such as bicycle campers or motorcycle campers, rather than campers with a lot of equipment.

It was May when I went, so there were no people there, but it seemed like it would be crowded during high season!

It is a free site, so it is hard to say, but if 15 groups can stay in total, I think it is close to full. In fact, you can see a 360° view from the Hobo campground site. If you are interested, please check it out!

Day Camp Comments!

This time we did day camping at Honno Campground, and it was a good experience for me because it was the first time I actually camped at a campground with a hot spring right next to it.

The spa facilities are clean, as are the restrooms and cooking facilities, and the staff is at the front desk!

Eniwa Onsen Honoka also has a dining area, so you really only need to bring your camping gear.

The fee is a little high for camping, but not if it includes a hot spring bathing fee! In fact, if you pay 2000 for an unlimited hot spring bathing ticket, it is quite inexpensive. This time we were day camping, but after visiting there we realized that staying overnight is the best way to fully enjoy the charms of HONO campground.

We invite you to spend a night at Eniwa Onsen Honoka or Honoka Campsite!
