This time, we would like to introduce Lake Tanuki Campground. If you are looking for a campground in the Kanto area, please take a look at this page.

Lake Tanuki Campground is the best choose!

Attractions of Lake Tanuki Campground #1

The most attractive point of Lake Tanuki Campground is that you can overlook Mt. Fuji at Lake Tanuki Campground. The scenery changes from moment to moment, so it is relaxing just to look at Mt!

Conversations often heard in the campground
Conversation often heard in the campground
I’ve never seen Mt. Fuji this close up.
Fuji is big! Fuji is huge!
Fuji is so big!
It was so close and powerful.

 Lake Tanuki Campground Attraction #2

Diamond Fuji is the most beautiful!

Diamond Fuji is famous and is also known as “Double Diamond” because of the reflection of Mt. Before sunrise, people line up at spots with a clear view of Mt.

During the cold season, it is very cold by the lake, so it is necessary to keep warm! We wait around a little before the sunrise, and every hour we can see a little more of the atmosphere of Mt.

Fuji and the area around Lake Tanuki changes from dawn to morning, which is really beautiful.

 Lake Tanuki Campground Attraction #3

Cycling around Lake Tanuki is pleasant and great!

The Lake Tanuki round-the-lake cycling course is a course that circles around the lakeside as shown in the above figure. It is a perfect course for children who are just starting to ride bicycles as the road is almost flat.

price for bikes
30 minutes: 300 yen 1 hour: 500 yen (Bicycles for adults and children are available.) *One lap is about 4 km and takes about 20 minutes for adults by bicycle.

Small children (2-5 years old) can sit in the back seat of the adult’s seat, allowing them to ride around the lakeside with the child.

There is also a playground for small children, where they can stop and play with their bicycles.

However, please note that the bicycle parking lot for this playground is not very large, so if your timing is bad, you may not be able to park your bicycle there! There is also a time limit for bike rental, so be careful how much time you allocate to play!

On the way, there is a course through the woods like this, where you can soak up negative ions all over your body. If you ride in the morning, you can feel the fresh morning air and have a really nice morning.

Why do people choose Lake Tanuki Campground?

田貫湖キャンプ場の他とは違う所はとにかくコスパが良い点です!What makes Lake Tanuki Campground different from other campgrounds is that it is very cost-effective!

fees for camping
(During top season, 1,000 yen tax included per tent per night will be added to the regular fee.)
Tarp: 1,000 yen per tarp, per night

At other campgrounds, a typical tent site may cost about 7,000 yen per tent.

There is a full lineup of rental items available,
BBQ grill 4,000 yen (tax included)
BBQ stove (for charcoal) 1,200 yen (tax included)
Tarp (simple tent) 1,000 yen (tax included)
Table 800 yen (tax included)
Chairs (1 chair) 300 yen (tax included)
It seems that there is a limited number of chairs available.

The number of available spaces seems to be limited, so it is best to check with them.

Since it is by reservation only, it is not so crowded, which is another reason why we recommend it. Since the campground is completely reservation-only, the crowds in the campground are not so large.

However, due to its popularity, it is difficult to make reservations on holidays and other days, and Site A near the lakefront can be booked up within minutes of the start of reservations.

Reservations for the following month are accepted from 10:00 a.m. on the first day of each month, but if you are looking for Site A, we recommend that you make your reservation at 10:00 a.m. exactly for Site A, as the popular Site A is often not reserved even 5 minutes after the start of the month!

The public campground is beautifully maintained.

Walking paths, bike paths, playground equipment, and restrooms are clean and well maintained.

Many foreign visitors came to the campground and they seemed surprised at the cleanliness of the campground.

However, as for the restrooms, there is a restroom between sites A and B. I recommend the restrooms because they are clean. The other restrooms are also clean, but the restrooms at site A and B were freshly renovated and easy to use.

Recommended ways to spend your time at Lake Tanuki Campground

Lake Tanuki Campground does not have auto sites, so you have to unload at the parking lot and carry your luggage to the site. If you have a carry wagon, you will have no problem carrying your luggage, but if you do not, you will have to carry your luggage by yourself.

荷物卸しは荷台の貸出しありだが要注意!A cargo bed is available for unloading, but care must be taken!

For those who wish to use a cart or dolly, there are carts and dollies available for shared use at the entrance to the parking lot. Boats
1 boat 1 hour 1,000 yen (tax included) *June to November
The lake is very beautiful during the season of autumn leaves, and it is pleasant just to float on the lake.
The lake is also home to a variety of birds, making it a favorite spot for birdwatchers.
When the wind is strong, the boat is easily swept away and it is difficult to steer the boat, so it is best to take a ride when the wind is light.

It is comfortable and looks like a sporty bicycle.
It is a ride I would like to try at least once.

Contact with nature!
Parents can also enjoy an experience with their children at a facility called Lake Tanuki Shizenjuku.

What kind of place is the nature school?

Lake Tanuki Fureai Nature School opened in 2000 as the first national nature school on the banks of Lake Tanuki,
Admission is free, and 100,000 people visit the facility every year to experience a variety of play and learning in the spacious two-story nature experience house, which can be played even in the rain.

Visitors can enjoy daily interaction with the staff, nature interpretation exhibits, and nature experience programs.

There are also “overnight cottages” where visitors can stay and enjoy themselves, and wheelchair users and visitors with pets can also stay in comfort.

Everyone is welcome, from babies to the elderly, and everyone can enjoy spending time here. The house, where you take off your shoes, has ample space for babies to play safely. There are many surprises in the nature explanatory exhibits that will tickle your intellectual curiosity. The old-fashioned play corner where everyone can play together, regardless of age.

There is also a relaxing space modeled after a Japanese-style house where visitors can take a rest.

Enjoy the great nature of the national park!

Lake Tanuki Fureai Nature School is located in Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park.

National parks are places designated and managed under the Natural Parks Law as Japan’s representative natural scenic areas. They protect nature from the waves of development and provide a place where everyone can experience the wonders, connections, and importance of nature while having fun.

After all, it is a hot spring!

It is a 20-minute drive, but the hot spring called Fugaku Onsen Hananoyu was wonderful.

It has a large open-air bath, a highly concentrated carbon dioxide spring, a sauna, and other baths that change according to the season.

The location of the spa is also very convenient, just one block away from the main street.

The location is easily accessible, one street back from the main street, and there is a delicious tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen restaurant nearby.

The restaurant is very popular and is almost always fully booked on weekends.

I had a bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen and it was excellent!
We will definitely stop by this ramen shop again when we visit Lake Tanuki Campground.

Summary

Thank you for taking the time to read this article. I have described the charm of Lake Tanuki Camp at length, but I think the best way to experience the campsite is to go there and directly interact with nature, animals, and the warm staff.

I am sure you will realize that there is such a campsite. Have a great time at the camp!
