About FIELD

FUJI TOMATO FIELD is a free site only, and it is 5.5 hectares of open space!

It may be difficult to describe, but it is very open and spacious!

There are slopes, but some areas are flat, some are hilly, and you can find your own prime spot…

I found some of my favorite places too…!

Fuji, the other side of the mountain range was also very beautiful. The setting sun was also a wonderful sight.

The restrooms are in a beautiful building, and there are two of them on the grounds.

Is the fact that no shoes are allowed in the middle of the building the reason why they are kept so clean? I am grateful that the restrooms are so clean, because there are problems with restrooms everywhere. I also try to make the building more beautiful than when I arrived! I also try to be more beautiful than when I arrived.

If you are lucky, you can even see Red Fuji…

First of all, have you ever heard of Red Fuji or Aka fuji? Let me give you a brief explanation.

Beni Fuji → Snow-covered Mt. Fuji turns slightly pink in the sunlight from winter to early spring.

Red Fuji” refers to the view of Mt. Fuji without snow, which is tinted by sunlight from summer to early autumn.

Both of these views can be seen when the air is clear, and we were able to see them very beautifully in the latter half of December when we were there!

It was a luxurious time to soak in the afterglow of the camp while watching Red Fuji gradually narrowing in range.

Koan campground

This campground, which was the topic of a certain camping anime, is located in an area with the highly transparent Lake Motosu, one of the Fuji Five Lakes, and is famous for the Mt. Fuji depicted on the back of the 1,000 yen bill.

The reception desk was also renewed last year (2023), and seems to be evolving daily to be loved by many campers!

About Reservation

Online reservations only for booking.

Check-in can be reserved for 60 days including the day of the reservation. As for the check-in time, you can select an available time every 30 minutes to avoid congestion.

When we visited in 2021, the campground reception was located at the Central Lodge where the store is located, but when we visited in 2024, the location had been changed! A new reception building was built next to the Central Lodge, where you fill out a check-in card.

The restaurant has also reopened on weekdays only from January 2024 and is available anytime after check-out, before in, and during camping♪

The restaurant offers a variety of specialties such as Hoto, a specialty of Yamanashi, and wakasagi (freshwater fish) bowls from the lakes in the area.â

About Campsite

Koan Campground is divided into two main sites: a lakeside site where you can pitch your tent along Lake Motosu, and a slightly elevated site on the mountain side.

The first time I used the campground, it was raining, so I chose a site on the mountain side where I could shelter from the rain in the shade of the trees. Even though it is on the mountain side, there is an area where you can see Lake Motosu through the trees, so this area is more popular with those who want to have a private space like a secret base.

The second time we chose a site along the lakeside, which was less crowded because it was a weekday and there were fewer people there.

Because it was along the lakeside, the slope was a little sloping and the wind was a little strong, but the collaboration of the beautiful lakeside and Mt.

In the summer, there are also a variety of water activities such as SUP and canoeing! It looks like rentals are available, so I’ll bring you the latest information when I visit again in the summer.
